Paleo Lemonade:
Healthier Paleo Lemonade – no refined sugar, sweetened with maple syrup! Just 3 ingredients. Refined sugar free, gluten free, grain free, dairy free, vegan, clean eating.
It has been so glorious and sunny outside, summer is in full swing. Which of course gets me craving a cold glass of iced lemonade. But I wanted to make a version that is way healthier and is refined sugar free.
This healthier paleo lemonade is really hitting the spot!
I’ve been spending my afternoons outside, sitting in the shade, listening to music and watching my 2 year old play with his toys and baby pool and sand box. It is such a sweet time.
Made even sweeter with this tasty healthier paleo lemonade in my hand.
My girlfriend has a huge lemon tree, and it is the gift that keeps on giving. She sends me homes with bags (BAGS!) of lemons, and I gladly accept them. I’ve used them to make my paleo lemon sorbet, paleo + whole30 lemon and asparagus skillet, paleo + whole30 lemon and herb chicken drumsticks, and of course to make this healthier paleo lemonade.
It starts with lemons. A whole bunch of lemons. You’re going to need 1.5 cups.
My favorite paleo sweetener to use to sweeten this healthier paleo lemonade is maple syrup. I tried it with honey, but that added too much of a honey taste. I also tried coconut sugar, but that made the lemonade too dark of a color and I missed the pretty yellow color. Maple syrup worked out to be my favorite.
And to make it even fancier, I like serving it with a big sprig of mint from my garden to add even more freshness and brightness.
Servings: 7 cups
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
No refined sugar, sweetened with maple syrup! Just 3 ingredients.
- 1-1/2 cups lemon juice, I prefer meyer lemons
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 5 cups water
In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir to combine. Serve cold over ice with a wedge of lemon and fresh mint (optional).
You can also sweeten the lemonade with honey or coconut sugar, but I prefer maple syrup. Coconut sugar changes the color of the lemonade to a darker color, FYI.
