How to Make Mediterranean Fish Soup

  1. In a slow cooker pot, add onions, green bell peppers, garlic, tomato sauce, tomatoes, chicken broth, mushrooms, olives, wine, bay leaves, orange juice, fennel seeds, pepper, salt and dried basil.
  2. Cover with the lid and place it into the slow cooker base and let it cook on low for 4 to 4 ½ hours, or until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and cod fillet cubes to the slow cooker pot, cover with lid and let it cook for 15-30 minutes more. Or until the shrimp is pink and opaque.
  4. Remove the bay leaves from the pot and discard.
  5. Ladle the soup into serving bowls and serve hot with garlic bread.
