My easy ground turkey meatloaf recipe is moist, tender, and full of flavor. Turkey meatloaf is a wonderful alternative that will help you stay on track with your healthy goals this year!
Ground Turkey Meatloaf Recipe
I do prefer to use the 97% fat-free ground turkey for this turkey meatloaf recipe. It’s a bit juicier and will give you a little more flavor, however, if you’re accustomed to cooking with the 99% fat-free ground turkey and don’t mind that texture and flavor, you can certainly use it for this recipe to make it even lighter.
I love cooking with ground turkey because it’s a healthier alternative to ground beef. In fact, my ground turkey stuffed peppers continue to be one of my most popular recipes here on the blog. If you haven’t tried this recipe yet, do not miss it!
Easy Turkey Meatloaf
Does it produce a dish that tastes just like a dish made with ground beef? No. Turkey has its own vibe and I happen to be a fan. If you’ve never tried making ground turkey meatloaf before I highly recommend giving this recipe a shot—especially if you’re working toward improving your diet this year!
As I said, it’s all about small changes. Swapping one ingredient for another can lead to larger changes down the line!
I hope you love this delicious ground turkey meatloaf recipe. Pair it with some steamed veggies and a scoop of mashed potatoes and you’re golden! 🙂
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking pan with foil and lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Add the olive oil to a medium skillet. Saute the bell pepper, onion and the garlic until tender ( about 6 minutes). Stir in the thyme, basil, salt and the pepper and continue to saute for another minute. Add the Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup of the ketchup and the chicken broth; stir until blended and set aside to cool. For faster cooling transfer mixture to a bowl. Mixture can still be warm when used, just not hot.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, eggs and the bread crumbs. Stir in the green pepper mixture a little at a time until well blended.
Put the mixture onto the prepared pan. Shape into a loaf about 9 to 10 inches in length. Add the remaining ketchup to the top. Bake for one hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
