    • 1 onion (large, finely chopped)
    • 1 cabbage (white; shredded)
    • 2 tablespoons of water
    • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
    • 1/2 cup of dill (finely chopped)
    • Black pepper (to taste)
    • Salt (to taste)
    • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
    • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon of ground smoked paprika

Whether it is served on its own or as a side dish, cabbage makes for a wonderful dinner meal. It’s low in calories, but rich in nutrients, including vitamins K, C, and B9. It goes really well with dill and cumin, which not only adds great flavor, but also aids cabbage digestion.

    1. Saute the onions until translucent.(5 minutes)
    2. Add the cabbage, water, and seasoning (salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika). Give it a mix, put the lid on, and cook on low, stirring occassionally.(15 minutes)
    3. After about 15 minutes, add the tomato paste, sugar, and dill. Give it a stir and cook uncovered for another 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is soft. If it starts to stick to the bottom, add a little more water.(15 minutes)
    4. Garnish with dill and serve warm. Enjoy!
