How to make Kaddu Ki Tikki


  • Step 1 Saute the spices

    To start making these amazing tikkis, heat oil in a kadhai and add ginger and garlic to it and saute it for a minute. Then, add gram flour and sauteed for another 2 minutes. Once done add dried mango powder, red chillies, chilli flakes and roasted cumin powder. Mix all the ingredients together very well.


  • Step 2 Add pumpkin and bread

    Once all spices are mixed properly, add grated pumpkin in the kadhai. Cook for 5-10 minutes and then turn the heat off. Let this mixture cool. To this add cut bread slices and salt, mix well and keep aside.


  • Step 3 Stuff with cheese and prune

    Next, shape the mixture in form of small tikkis using your hands. In each tikki stuff one prune and top with grated cheese. Roll into tikki again and keep aside.


  • Step 4 Shallow fry the tikkis and serve hot

    Finally, in a pan heat some oil. Shallow fry the tikkis until they turn golden brown. Keep flipping sides to ensure both sides are evenly cooked. Once done, drain excess oil and serve hot with chutney or sauce.
